After a long wait, the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) conducted the written examination for Group-C workers in the state on Sunday. Tight security measures were in place, with the deployment of central paramilitary forces and special precautions at the 1,693 examination centers.
The Group-C exam, held at 1,693 centers, saw about 8,04,000 candidates vying for 2,989 vacancies. Candidates were subject to strict safety regulations, including restrictions on footwear and prohibited items like electronic gadgets, jewelry, and closed shoes.
Candidates from outside states also participated in the exam, with the SSC ensuring thorough security arrangements in coordination with the state police. The examination, which began at 10 a.m., concluded at 1:50 p.m., with a total of 60 marks allocated for the Group-C test.
The Group-D recruitment exam is scheduled for March 8, with similar security protocols in place. The total number of exam centers for both Group-C and Group-D exams was approximately 3,400, with over 8,09,000 applications received for the Group-D test.
