The Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a sit-in protest outside the Congress headquarters, Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, in Ahmedabad. Led by Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma, around 200 to 300 BJP workers gathered for the protest. They chanted slogans demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Congress of targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence during a previous protest.

Security was tightened around the Congress office with nearly 2,000 police personnel deployed to prevent clashes between the two parties. Senior police officers, including Deputy Commissioners and Joint Commissioners, oversaw the security arrangements. Barricades were set up around Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, and a strong police presence was maintained throughout the protest.

The BJP’s demonstration followed a morning of tension as the Congress organized a sit-in and protest march over the alleged NEET paper leak. The Congress march was halted by police shortly after it began, resulting in a scuffle between protesters and security personnel. Some Congress workers even climbed onto police vehicles during the confrontation, leading to the detention of state Congress president Amit Chavda, MLA Imran Khedawala, and around 100 Congress leaders and workers.

The Congress protest was part of a broader political campaign initiated after Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders protested outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in New Delhi over the NEET controversy and the demand for the Union Education Minister’s resignation. Delhi Police detained the opposition leaders during the protest, later releasing them.
