Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has made a significant decision to provide government land free of cost to municipalities in towns and cities across the state for public welfare projects. Municipalities in Gujarat will now receive free land for developing 11 types of crucial infrastructure facilities, reducing their financial burden.
This decision by Chief Minister Patel will exempt around 152 municipalities from paying 25 to 50 per cent of the market value or ‘jantri’ rates previously required for acquiring government land. The simplified and streamlined land allotment process is expected to facilitate quicker implementation of development projects.
