Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has instructed district administrations to prioritize citizen-centric decisions based on local feedback for prompt grievance redressal. This directive came during the State SWAGAT Online program where over 4,000 representations were addressed in January 2026. The government’s focus on decentralized grievance resolution was evident with actions taken at state, district, and taluka levels.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for a sensitive and efficient approach, especially towards issues impacting farmers and ordinary citizens. He highlighted the importance of resolving public problems like encroachments on roads, drainage lines, and inter-village connecting roads promptly and with a people-first mindset. During the session, farmers and beneficiaries brought forward long-pending issues, prompting immediate action and solution-oriented directions from Patel.
In response to concerns raised by farmers in Dabhoi and Botad districts, Patel swiftly addressed issues such as damage caused by untreated gutter water and submergence of agricultural land due to embankment height increase. Immediate instructions were given to tackle these challenges effectively. Furthermore, beneficiaries from Surat district highlighted delays in housing construction post-demolition of old buildings. The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the construction process for timely completion of new housing units.
