Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel commended the Centre’s move to grant ‘Classical Language’ status to Pali and Prakrit, emphasizing its role in preserving Jainism’s literary heritage. He highlighted this achievement during the inauguration of Shri Nitya Shanti Bhavan in Ahmedabad. Patel credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for safeguarding valuable Jain scriptures through this decision.
Patel also lauded the inauguration of the Samprati Museum in Gandhinagar, noting it as a step towards preserving India’s cultural and spiritual legacy. He spoke about the government’s commitment to combining development with heritage preservation under the vision of ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’. Patel praised PM Modi’s leadership in realizing historic efforts like the Somnath Swabhiman Parva and restoring India’s cultural stature.
At the event, Patel stressed the significance of spirituality in modern society, stating that true happiness goes beyond material comforts and can be found through the spiritual path. He expressed confidence in the newly constructed Shri Nitya Shanti Bhavan, envisioning it as a hub for promoting humanity, peace, and compassion while providing modern amenities for the Jain community. Patel urged people to embrace values like water conservation, cleanliness, ‘Vocal for Local’, and natural farming in their daily lives, echoing the Prime Minister’s advocacy for these public commitments.
The newly inaugurated Shri Nitya Shanti Bhavan features a Prabhu Chaitya, facilities for monks and nuns, educational spaces, and modern amenities to cater to the needs of the Jain community. Leaders from various Jain organizations and a large number of devotees attended the ceremony, emphasizing the community’s tradition of public service and compassion.
