Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi organized a high-level security meeting in Gandhinagar following an anonymous email threatening to bomb the Gujarat Legislative Assembly complex just before the Budget Session. The meeting, attended by top officials including Gujarat Director General of Police Dr K.L.N. Rao and District Superintendent of Police Ravi Teja Shetty, aimed to assess the threat and coordinate security measures.
The threatening email, received minutes before the scheduled session, alleged the presence of explosives within the Assembly premises. As a precautionary measure, security personnel evacuated all legislators, Assembly staff, and visitors. Subsequently, police, along with bomb detection and dog squads, conducted a thorough search of the area to ensure safety.
After a detailed inspection of the building and its surroundings, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad confirmed the absence of any suspicious devices. Although the Assembly proceedings faced a delay of about an hour, they resumed after the premises were declared safe and secure. Investigators are currently analyzing the email to trace its source and have assured that necessary legal actions will be taken against the culprits.
