Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for making untrue claims against the state police. Sanghavi questioned Kejriwal’s accusations following the arrest of two individuals, including a senior AAP member, after an investigation into an alleged Intelligence Bureau (IB) verification call.
The controversy arose when AAP’s Vadodara city unit President, Ashok Oza, and Nitin Dobariya were arrested by Anand Cyber Crime Police for allegedly impersonating an IB officer and engaging in criminal intimidation. This incident unfolded after claims by former Delhi MLA Durgesh Pathak and subsequent amplification by Kejriwal regarding threats to AAP workers by Gujarat Police’s IB wing.
The police investigation revealed that the call in question was made by Nitin, a labor contractor, and was allegedly orchestrated by Ashok Oza. The call, falsely claiming to be from the “Karelibaug IB Office,” was aimed at intimidating an AAP worker, Keshavji Chauhan, due to internal AAP rivalry, as per investigators.
Deputy CM Sanghavi criticized Kejriwal and the AAP leadership for their alleged falsehoods and questioned the motives behind such actions. Sanghavi emphasized the need for truth in Gujarat and condemned what he described as Kejriwal’s deceptive tactics.
