The Gujarat Giants are gearing up for the upcoming fourth season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), commencing on January 9. The team, owned by Adani Sportsline, is aiming for consistency and further success after a breakthrough playoff performance last year. With a blend of international talent and promising Indian players, the Giants are focused on securing another playoff spot and advancing deeper in the tournament.
The team will kick off their WPL 2026 campaign on January 10 against UP Warriorz. Initially playing their first four matches in Navi Mumbai, they will later shift to Vadodara from January 19 for the final leg of the league stage. Returning to Vadodara, where they made their home debut last season, the Giants are eager to perform in front of their supporters.
Captain Ashleigh Gardner emphasized the importance of balance within the team, both in terms of skills and team unity. Head coach Michael Klinger highlighted the significance of attention to detail in their gameplay, focusing on doing the basics right to secure victories. Women’s World Cup-winner Renuka Singh expressed the team’s clear goal of clinching the trophy and continuing to excel individually.
