In a Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 match, Gujarat Giants clinched a thrilling 10-run victory over UP Warriorz. Ashleigh Gardner’s impressive batting, coupled with strong bowling performances by Renuka Singh Thakur and Sophie Devine, led the Giants to success.

The Warriorz faced a daunting target of 207 runs, with a shaky start as opener Kiran Navgire fell early. Despite a resilient effort by captain Meg Lanning and Phoebe Litchfield, Gujarat’s bowlers turned the game in their favor.

Gujarat’s bowlers, particularly Renuka Singh Thakur and Sophie Devine, applied pressure by taking crucial wickets. Litchfield’s valiant half-century and support from Shweta Sehrawat were not enough as the Warriorz fell short, finishing at 197/8 in 20 overs.

Captain Ashleigh Gardner’s pivotal knock and a strong partnership with debutant Anushka Sharma propelled Gujarat to a commanding total of 207 runs. The Giants’ bowling unit, led by Renuka Singh Thakur, sealed the win with disciplined performances.
