The Gujarat government and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) have agreed to establish advanced Common Technical Facilities (CTF) at a proposed Space Manufacturing Park in Khoraj. This project aims to bolster India’s private space sector by offering shared testing and validation infrastructure for start-ups and small manufacturers.
During the 10th edition of the IN-SPACe Industry Connect event in Ahmedabad, the agreement was announced in the presence of Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. The project, aligned with Gujarat’s Space Tech Policy 2025-30, will provide support to companies involved in spacecraft, payload, and space technology development by granting access to specialized infrastructure.
The Common Technical Facility will be developed in collaboration with IN-SPACe to meet national standards and cater to the needs of established space firms and emerging start-ups. This initiative builds on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s space sector reforms, establishing IN-SPACe as a facilitator, promoter, and regulator for the industry.
With a focus on enhancing India’s space economy globally, the project aims to accelerate product development cycles, enhance system reliability, and invigorate the country’s space technology ecosystem. The facility will feature various testing and validation equipment, including a clean room, thermo-vacuum chamber, vibration testing system, and electromagnetic interference facilities.
