The Gujarat government has sanctioned a series of industrial projects totaling more than Rs 2,999 crore under various incentive schemes. These projects aim to boost manufacturing, industrial infrastructure, and job creation in the state. The approvals were granted in high-level committee meetings led by Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

The sanctioned projects are part of Gujarat’s industrial incentive framework, which includes support for large industries, textile manufacturing, and industrial park development. It is anticipated that these approved proposals will result in the creation of over 6,100 direct jobs. The largest approvals were granted under the Industrial Policy-2015, with 32 applications receiving clearance for a combined investment of Rs 1,978.04 crore, expected to generate around 4,739 direct jobs.

Several sectors and districts across Gujarat will benefit from these investments. Notably, Ahmedabad secured investments of Rs 528.49 crore in automobile, metal, cement, and concrete sectors. Morbi, Kutch, Mehsana, Vadodara, Sabarkantha, Surat, Gandhinagar, and Bharuch also received approvals for various projects in different sectors. The Industrial Policy-2015, operating under the ‘Incentives to Industries’ scheme, has attracted investments totaling Rs 1,48,336.35 crore and created 1,65,053 direct jobs since its inception.

Furthermore, a project under the Capital Subsidy Scheme for Large Industries and Thrust Sectors, involving an investment of Rs 649.23 crore, was approved to create approximately 871 direct jobs. The government highlighted that this investment will enhance Gujarat’s industrial landscape and contribute to employment generation. Additionally, the State-Level Empowered Committee approved assistance for three textile units, expected to bring investments of Rs 165 crore and generate around 500 direct jobs.

Under the Industrial Park Assistance Scheme of the Gujarat Industrial Policy-2020, four projects with investments exceeding Rs 371.70 crore were approved for the development of industrial parks. These initiatives aim to bolster the state’s industrial infrastructure. The meetings where these decisions were made saw the presence of Minister of State for Industries, Dr. Jayram Gamit, along with other senior officials and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce Industry (GCCI) President Sandeep Engineer.
