The Gujarat government has allocated extra duties to 16 senior Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) and Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. This move comes through an order from the General Administration Department (GAD) to make interim administrative arrangements in various state departments, corporations, and district-level offices.

The order specifies that these officers will carry out the additional responsibilities until further notice or until the current officers in charge are relieved due to recent transfers. Among the notable appointments, V.K. Patel, GAS (Senior Scale), Executive Director at the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), has been given an additional role at GIDC, Gandhinagar. This is until B.K. Joshi, IAS, is relieved of his duties.

Y.S. Chaudhari, GAS (Selection Scale), Joint Managing Director of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, will now also serve as Managing Director of the Gujarat Rural Industries Marketing Corporation Limited (GRIMCO) following A.K. Prajapati’s transfer.

M.R. Prajapati, GAS (Senior Scale), Secretary of the Sports Authority of Gujarat, has been appointed Officer on Special Duty at the Gujarat Maritime Board after a recent transfer. Y.B. Jhala, GAS (Selection Scale), Additional Inspector General of Registration, has been tasked with the additional responsibility of Additional Collector until I.R. Vala, IAS, is relieved.
