ITIs play a pivotal role in shaping the future careers of youth, as stated by State Minister Kantilal Amrutiya. He highlighted the significance of ITIs beyond being mere training centers, emphasizing their role in molding the future workforce. Efforts are being made to ensure that ITI graduates can secure monthly incomes ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000, contributing to their employability and financial stability.
The government is actively working on skill development initiatives to integrate school drop-outs into vocational training programs. Secretary Lochan Sehra of the Labour, Skill Development, and Employment Department mentioned a structured program aimed at skilling school drop-outs and preventing their drift towards unskilled labor. The government’s focus includes upgrading ITIs into advanced skilling centers under the PM Setu scheme, with a significant allocation of funds for infrastructure modernization and course introductions.
