The Gujarat government initiated a 100-day campaign to promote yoga across the state in preparation for the upcoming 12th International Yoga Day on June 21. Led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat State Yoga Board aims to raise awareness and encourage yoga practice through various activities. The campaign kickstarted with an event at the new MLA residences in Gandhinagar, attended by officials and legislators.
The campaign will feature yoga camps at district and taluka headquarters, focusing on the Common Yoga Protocol followed globally during International Yoga Day. Officials emphasized the importance of yoga not just as exercise but as a holistic lifestyle. They highlighted the goal of creating a physically and mentally healthy society through yoga practice.
With a theme of ‘Ek Kadam Yogmay Vidhan Sabha Taraf,’ the campaign seeks to expand participation in yoga activities throughout Gujarat. The State Yoga Board plans to conduct events and training sessions in districts and talukas over the next few weeks to promote yoga awareness and engagement.
