The Gujarat government, as announced by Minister Jitu Vaghani, has distributed financial aid totaling over Rs 9,466 crore to more than 32 lakh farmers impacted by unseasonal and heavy rainfall. Following a state Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Vaghani disclosed that online bills amounting to Rs 9,516 crore have been generated for over 3.2 million farmers under the agricultural relief package.
As per Vaghani, a significant number of 32.49 lakh farmers have already received more than Rs 9,466 crore directly credited to their bank accounts. The aid was specifically aimed at assisting farmers whose crops suffered due to unseasonal rains in October 2025 across 33 districts, with Rs 8,571 crore already disbursed to 29,93,689 beneficiaries.
The minister highlighted that heavy rainfall in September 2025 impacted five districts, leading to the preparation of bills worth Rs 792 crore for 2,34,386 beneficiaries. Notably, Rs 791.19 crore has already been disbursed to 2,33,777 farmers in these affected districts. The relief package was crucial as the untimely rains coincided with the critical harvesting period for crops like cotton, groundnut, and pulses, causing widespread damage.
In addition to crop-related aid, the government also extended assistance for land improvement, with 41,777 applications received under the scheme. Online bills totaling Rs 113.01 crore were prepared for 34,615 beneficiaries, of which Rs 104.37 crore has been disbursed to 31,958 farmers. Vaghani assured that the government is actively overseeing the disbursement process to ensure prompt aid reaches all eligible farmers affected by last year’s rainfall.
