Gujarat Health Minister Praful Pansheriya announced that the state government will take strict action against those involved in the blood plasma adulteration racket uncovered in Ahmedabad. The racket, which endangered patients’ health, was dismantled by the Ahmedabad Rural Police’s Special Operations Group.
Four individuals, including the alleged mastermind, have been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the wider network behind the operation. Praful Pansheriya emphasized that anyone compromising patients’ health will face consequences, ensuring a thorough investigation for accountability.
The operation was initiated based on specific intelligence inputs received by the police. The accused orchestrated a scheme involving the diversion and adulteration of blood plasma consignments. The main accused, Dinesh Chaudhary, utilized his prior experience in the pharmaceutical sector to carry out the fraudulent activities.
The Health Minister expressed grave concern over the adulteration of blood plasma, labeling it as a serious offense that undermines public trust in the healthcare system. He stressed a zero-tolerance policy towards such acts and highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing oversight of medical facilities.
Changodar police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law against the accused. Further arrests were made, and substantial evidence, including blood plasma units and equipment used in the crime, were seized during the crackdown.
