Gujarat’s National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, who represented the state at the 77th Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, received recognition from Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at an ‘At Home Ceremony’ in Gandhinagar. The cadets returned on January 30 after participating in various national-level events, showcasing discipline and performance excellence.
During the camp, the cadets engaged in activities such as the Republic Day Parade, Guard of Honour, Prime Minister’s Rally, and cultural programs. Chief Minister Patel emphasized the significance of NCC as a school that instills unity and discipline, essential for personal and national progress. He highlighted the role of NCC in shaping character and responsibility from a young age.
Certificates of Excellence were presented to nine cadets for their outstanding achievements during the ceremony. Chief Minister Patel also unveiled the Cadet Journal-2026 and awarded the Inter Group Championship Banner of Gujarat to NCC Rajkot for its exceptional performance in various NCC activities. He commended the cadets for embodying confidence, discipline, and the spirit of ‘Nation First’.
Congratulating the cadets, Chief Minister Patel underscored the importance of early lessons in unity and discipline for leadership and public service, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an example. He praised the NCC cadets for their contributions beyond ceremonial duties, including disaster relief, cleanliness drives, environmental conservation, and blood donation activities. Chief Minister Patel emphasized that NCC reflects the vision of ‘Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat’.
Describing NCC as more than an institution for marching, Chief Minister Patel highlighted its role in fostering unity among young individuals. He noted the increasing number of NCC cadets nationwide, emphasizing the growth from 14 lakh to 20 lakh in recent years. Major General Bimal Monga, Gujarat NCC’s Additional Director General, shared insights into NCC activities in the state and expressed gratitude for the government’s support.
The ceremony, attended by Brigadiers from NCC headquarters in Vadodara, Jamnagar, Vidyanagar, and Ahmedabad, celebrated the achievements of Gujarat’s NCC cadets and their contributions to national events.
