Gujarat Police and Sahkar Taxi Co-operative Limited, operating the ‘Bharat Taxi’ platform, have signed an MoU to enhance passenger safety and urban transport in the state. The agreement includes integrating an SOS service in the Bharat Taxi app, connecting passengers to Gujarat Police during emergencies, especially focusing on women and senior citizens.

This partnership ensures that all drivers on the Bharat Taxi platform undergo official police verification by Gujarat Police, emphasizing passenger security. Additionally, special awareness programs on traffic rules and joint campaigns for safe travel will be conducted for drivers and citizens. Gujarat Police will oversee law enforcement, driver verification, and control room support, while Bharat Taxi will manage the digital platform.

To facilitate the project’s success, Gujarat Police will assign a dedicated officer for coordinating driver verification, traffic branding, and training initiatives. The digital integration aims to provide safer and more efficient urban mobility, promoting environmentally friendly and secure transportation services in Gujarat.
