Gujarat Police have organized more than 5,000 cyber awareness programs across the state within the first two weeks of a month-long campaign. The initiative, known as ‘Operation Surakshit Cyberspace’, aims to safeguard women and children from online threats like sextortion, deepfakes, cyberstalking, and online grooming.
Under the supervision of Director General of Police (DGP) G. S. Malik, the campaign combines various strategies such as community outreach, technology-based surveillance, victim assistance, cyber awareness, and legal action to combat cybercrime. CID Crime (Women Cell) Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Ajay Chaudhary emphasized the importance of ensuring online safety for women and children in today’s digital age.
The campaign, which has reached a large audience in Gujarat through awareness drives and educational initiatives, focuses on different aspects of cyber safety. It includes programs tailored for schools, parents, teachers, and college students to raise awareness about cyber threats and prevention measures. Gujarat Police have also allocated specific responsibilities to personnel at various operational levels to ensure effective implementation of the initiative.
