Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill commended his team’s comprehensive performance, especially highlighting the bowling unit and improved fielding in their recent four-wicket triumph over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League 2026. RCB, batting first, could only manage 155 runs, a total Gill felt was below par. Gill praised the bowlers for restricting RCB to under 160 on a challenging pitch.
Gill credited Arshad Khan (3-22), Rashid Khan, and Jason Holder for leading the Gujarat Titans’ bowling attack, preventing RCB from gaining momentum despite contributions from Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli. He also acknowledged the team’s enhanced fielding display, noting the improved energy and collective effort after a shaky start in the field.
In the chase of 156, Gill’s aggressive 43 off 18 balls set the tone early on, with Jos Buttler’s 39 and Rahul Tewatia’s unbeaten 27 guiding Gujarat Titans to victory. Despite losing a few wickets, the team maintained control and reached the target in 15.5 overs. Gill praised Tewatia’s finishing skills, emphasizing his importance in the team’s success.
Following this win, the Gujarat Titans solidified their position in the standings with 10 points from five matches, gearing up to face the Punjab Kings on May 3.
