Gujarat Titans’ left-arm spin bowling all-rounder, Manav Suthar, has lauded Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan as the finest T20 bowler globally. Suthar expressed that learning from Rashid during the IPL has been a pivotal experience in his career. He emphasized the simplicity in Rashid’s approach to bowling, highlighting the invaluable lessons gained by bowling alongside him.

That simplicity was evident when Rashid delivered a stellar performance, securing 3-17 in Gujarat Titans’ recent narrow victory over Delhi Capitals. Suthar also highlighted the strong personal bond he shares with Rashid beyond cricket, praising Rashid’s amiable nature and willingness to share knowledge.

Suthar further mentioned the camaraderie within the Gujarat Titans’ spin group, including players like Jayant Yadav, Washington Sundar, and R Sai Kishore, fostering a supportive and familial atmosphere within the team. The team’s unity has contributed to their successful start in the IPL season, with consecutive wins boosting their morale.

Reflecting on his growth as a bowler through the IPL experience, Suthar credited the exposure to world-class batters for his development. He acknowledged the packed schedule he navigated between IPL seasons, facing various challenging opponents that accelerated his progress significantly.

Despite facing challenges like limited playing opportunities, Suthar remained resilient and credited Gujarat Titans for his career’s upward trajectory, transitioning from a support bowler to a key member of the squad. He emphasized the invaluable learning experience gained from bowling to top batters and the significant impact it had on his game.

Managing a demanding year-round cricket calendar, Suthar highlighted the importance of fitness in adapting swiftly to different formats. He emphasized the need to maintain peak fitness levels to excel across all formats and swiftly adjust to the varying demands of the game.

Suthar’s personal cricket philosophy revolves around continuous improvement, focusing on refining his strengths such as maintaining accuracy in line and length and prioritizing flight over speed. He stressed the importance of constant learning and evolution in honing his skills to excel in different match situations.

Growing up in Sri Ganganagar, known for scorching temperatures, Suthar credited his ability to endure the IPL’s hot weather to his upbringing in one of India’s hottest cities. His familiarity with extreme heat conditions has provided him with an advantage in coping with challenging weather conditions during matches.
