Gujarat is set to host the third edition of the Semiconnect Conference on March 1 in Gandhinagar. The conference will bring together global semiconductor chief executives, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss India’s role in the global value chain. Organized by the state’s Department of Science and Technology and the Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), the two-day event aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for self-reliance in technology.
The conference, inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries, aims to highlight Gujarat as India’s Gateway to Silicon. With a focus on advancing semiconductor manufacturing and research capabilities, the state is leveraging its infrastructure, industrial corridors, and investor-friendly policies. Keynote addresses, panel discussions, and roundtables will cover topics like next-generation semiconductor research, workforce development, and strengthening India’s electronics base.
Delegates will also visit the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) to gain insights into infrastructure projects related to the semiconductor ecosystem. Notable speakers at the conference include industry leaders like Dr. Randhir Thakur, Sanjay Mehrotra, G.C. Chaturvedi, Ramesh Kunhikannan, Ajit Manocha, and Dr. Rao Tummala. The event underscores Gujarat’s ambition to establish itself as a prominent hub in India’s semiconductor landscape.
