Gujarat has been honored as the “Best State for Promotion of Aviation Ecosystem” at Wings India 2026, a major civil aviation event held in Begumpet Airport from January 28 to 31. The award was presented by Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu during the event.
Gujarat Civil Aviation Commissioner K. L. Bachani confirmed the state’s recognition, emphasizing its efforts in enhancing aviation-related infrastructure and policy support. The award specifically acknowledges Gujarat’s achievements in areas like maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities, aviation infrastructure development, and progress in the aircraft leasing sector.
Telangana and Uttarakhand were also recognized as joint winners in the same category. Bachani highlighted that the award from the Union Civil Aviation Minister underscores Gujarat’s continuous endeavors to establish a robust aviation ecosystem. He noted that this recognition aligns with the state government’s strategy to position the aviation industry as a driver of economic growth and enhance air connectivity across regions.
Gujarat’s focus on expanding infrastructure and ensuring greater accessibility to air travel has been pivotal in receiving this accolade. The state’s approach revolves around long-term planning, capacity enhancement, and the improvement of facilities supporting commercial aviation and related services. Gujarat has previously been acknowledged at earlier editions of Wings India for its dedication to the aviation sector.
