Gujarat’s tableau, themed “Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram,” secured the first prize in the Popular Choice category during the 77th Republic Day celebrations. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Gujarat has won the Popular Choice Award. The award ceremony took place in New Delhi, with Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth presenting the trophy and certificate at the National School of Drama campus.
The tableau’s success reflects Gujarat’s consistent performance at the national parade, with the state now boasting a total of five awards in the last four years. Alongside this recent win, Gujarat also received a consolation prize in a cultural dance competition held during the tableau’s construction phase at the National School of Drama. The tableau, titled “Swatantrata Ka Mantra: Vande Mataram,” was well-received by the audience and judges alike.
The tableau’s creation was overseen by Commissioner Kishor Bachani and Additional Director of Information Arvind Patel. The planning, execution, and production were coordinated by Joint Director of Information Sanjay Kachot and Deputy Director of Information Bhavna Vasava. Gujarat’s winning streak at the Republic Day Parade began in 2023 with the tableau “Clean Green Energy–Powered Gujarat,” followed by “Dhordo: World’s Best Tourism Village” in 2024 and “From Anartpur to Ekta Nagar – A Remarkable Confluence of Heritage and Development” in 2025.
