Gunshots were fired at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu, with five rounds hitting the property on a Saturday night. Exclusive footage captured by IANS revealed bullet holes in a glass panel on the balcony, showing three distinct impacts on the building. Rohit Shetty’s home, equipped with more than 10 CCTV cameras, is now under scrutiny by four to five Crime Branch teams reviewing over 100 nearby CCTV recordings to identify the perpetrators.
The police investigation involves analyzing CCTV footage from Shetty Tower and neighboring buildings to track the attackers’ escape route. The incident, occurring between 12:30 and 1:00 AM on the night between Saturday and Sunday, saw an unknown number of attackers fleeing after the shooting. Following the report, senior Mumbai Police officers and Crime Branch teams swiftly arrived at the scene, leading to the cordoning off of the area for security purposes.
Forensic experts have gathered evidence, including bullets, from the site, as Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti confirmed the incident and ongoing investigations by the Mumbai Police and Crime Branch. The upscale neighborhood of Juhu, where the shooting transpired, is home to numerous Bollywood celebrities, raising concerns about security in such affluent areas. The motive behind the gunfire remains undisclosed, echoing a similar 2024 incident outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence, where two assailants on a bike fired four shots before escaping.
