Gwalior Cheetahs have revealed their team lineup for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup season. The squad features IPL-winning captain Rajat Patidar and talented fast bowlers like Akash Singh Raghuwanshi and Mangesh Yadav, enhancing the team’s pace attack with skill and versatility.
Patidar, who led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to their first IPL victory in 2025, has continued to demonstrate his prowess in the current season. Under his captaincy, RCB has advanced to the final and is scheduled to compete against 2022 champions Gujarat Titans on Sunday.
Madhav Singhania from Gwalior Cheetahs praised RCB skipper Rajat Patidar and expressed optimism about the team’s overall strength and balance. Singhania emphasized the squad’s mix of seasoned players and promising young talent, instilling confidence for the upcoming season. He believes the team is well-equipped to play aggressive cricket throughout the tournament.
Gwalior Cheetahs will kick off their campaign against Ujjain Falcons at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on June 3. The MPL 2026 edition will be the most extensive yet, featuring 10 men’s teams and five women’s franchises.
The men’s tournament welcomes three new franchises: Malwa Stallions, Ujjain Falcons, and Royal Nimar Eagles, joining defending champions Bhopal Leopards, along with other teams like Bundelkhand Bulls, Chambal Ghariyals, Gwalior Cheetahs, Indore Pink Panthers, Jabalpur Royal Lions, and Rewa Jaguars.
In the women’s competition, Gwalior Shernis and Royal Nimar Eagles are the latest additions, competing alongside Bhopal Wolves, Bundelkhand Bulls, and Chambal Ghariyals in the five-team tournament.
