Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) President and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal raised concerns about the investigation into the recovery of Rs 2.31 crore in cash and nearly one kg of gold from the basement of Yojana Bhawan near the State Secretariat in Jaipur during the previous Ashok Gehlot-led state government’s tenure.
Beniwal highlighted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had strongly criticized the incident while in the Opposition but had been notably silent on the matter after coming to power in Rajasthan. He questioned why the issue, previously a focal point of BJP’s criticism against the Congress government, had not seen further action post the change in government.
The RLP leader pressed for details on the ownership of the retrieved cash and gold, inquiring about the status of the investigation and the identities of individuals involved. He emphasized the need for transparency, urging Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to clarify the investigation’s status and disclose its findings to the public.
The recovery of cash and gold from Yojana Bhawan during the Congress government’s term had sparked political controversy, with opposition parties calling for a thorough probe. Beniwal reiterated the demand for the state government to present the facts to the public and ensure openness in the matter.
