Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has lauded 15-year-old batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as an extraordinary talent, commending his fearless approach to the game. Singh expressed admiration for Sooryavanshi’s unique abilities, highlighting the youngster’s bold style of play that sets him apart in modern cricket. The cricketer emphasized the evolving landscape of the sport, where players are encouraged to showcase their natural instincts rather than conforming to traditional norms.

Singh attributed the shift in mindset within Indian cricket to the growing acceptance of players who exhibit a fearless attitude and play with freedom. He noted the impact of media and social platforms in amplifying the achievements of young cricketers like Sooryavanshi, underscoring the unprecedented nature of his talent. Singh recounted a memorable incident from Sooryavanshi’s Indian Premier League debut, where the young player’s confidence and aggressive approach left a lasting impression.

Despite facing initial challenges in his international career, Sooryavanshi made history by becoming India’s youngest international cricketer during the T20I series against England. While the teenager encountered difficulties with the bat in the series, he remains a promising prospect for the national team. Sooryavanshi’s inclusion in India’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe reflects the selectors’ confidence in his abilities and potential to make significant contributions to the team.
