Actress and former Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu recently met Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, expressing pride in their shared roots and global journeys. The duo celebrated their upbringing in Punjab, the influence of India on their lives, and the opportunities the world has provided them. Harnaaz took to Instagram to post a photo with Harmanpreet, taken during the Women’s Premier League (WPL) opening match.
In the picture, Harnaaz looked stunning in a golden outfit while standing beside Harmanpreet, who exuded confidence in a Mumbai Indians jersey, symbolizing a champion’s spirit. Harnaaz captioned the photo with words highlighting their journey: “Punjab raised us, India shaped us, and the World & Universe became our stage. Honoured to catch up with Captain @imharmanpreet_kaur today! Chak de phatte @wplt20.”
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) kicked off its fourth edition on January 9 with a grand opening ceremony at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The event witnessed the presence of Harnaaz, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Honey Singh, adding glamour to the pre-match festivities. Harnaaz began the evening with a monologue celebrating women’s accomplishments across India, setting the stage for her performance.
Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet, have been the most successful team with two titles and are the reigning champions. Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana’s RCB clinched the 2024 edition. Delhi Capitals, the runners-up in the previous seasons, are eager to secure their first title. On a different note, Harnaaz made her acting debut in the movie “Baaghi 4” last year, directed by A. Harsha and featuring Tiger Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonam Bajwa. The film is the fourth installment in the Baaghi series, serving as an unofficial remake of the 2013 Tamil movie Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu.
