Haryana’s Chief Secretary, Anurag Rastogi, led a meeting to review the state’s progress in sports, early childhood education, nutrition, and higher education initiatives. The state, known for its sporting achievements, is now focusing on the 2036 Olympics with Mission Olympic 2036 – Vijayee Bhavah, a program to nurture young talents into future medal-winning athletes. District-level talent identification under the One District, One Sport initiative aims to provide equal opportunities for sporting talent across all districts.
The government has allocated initial funding for Mission Olympic 2036, with the Sports University responsible for its implementation. Additionally, the Khelo Haryana App is being developed to offer athletes easy access to sports-related information and opportunities. Haryana aims to lead in national development by emphasizing transparent, technology-driven, and citizen-centric governance aligned with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Significant progress has been made in transforming anganwadi centers into quality early learning institutions for children up to six years old. Over 4,000 centers have been upgraded with educational resources and facilities, benefiting thousands of children daily. The state is extending the NIPUN Bharat Mission to Grade V by March 2027 and enhancing anganwadi centers into high-quality pre-school education hubs.
To ensure the well-being of youth, the state is expediting the issuance of digital IDs for children aged zero to six. The Health Department is focusing on developing a repository of nutritious recipes and ensuring compliance with health protocols for children with severe acute malnutrition. The administration is dedicated to achieving measurable targets within set timelines for all actionable items.
