Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)-funded Sustainable Horticulture Promotion Project worth Rs 2,738 crore. He emphasized the crucial roles of farmers, youth, women, and modern technology in realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat – 2047. Saini highlighted the government’s focus on making Haryana a leading state in horticulture, agribusiness, cold chain infrastructure, food processing, and agricultural exports.
At an event in Panchkula on World Environment Day, the Chief Minister urged collective efforts to enhance sustainability, modernization, and profitability in agriculture. He stressed the importance of water conservation and ensuring a clean environment for future generations. Saini also laid the foundation stone for the Haryana Agri-Business and Cold Chain Centre during the event.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the newly launched projects would not only boost farmers’ incomes but also modernize and elevate the state’s agricultural sector. He commended the initiatives as significant steps towards a sustainable and high-value agricultural ecosystem. Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana was also present at the event, where both leaders participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and visited a Horticulture Department exhibition.
