Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to conserve fuel by cycling to Sukhna Lake and taking a morning walk. During his walk, CM Saini promoted the message of a ‘Healthy India, Healthy Haryana’ to the public, emphasizing cooperation with PM Modi’s appeal. He also urged the Opposition to unite in supporting the vision of a “Developed India”.

In Haryana, SOPs have been implemented to save fossil fuel, tailored to the administration’s needs. The state has opted for alternatives like virtual meetings and work from home to reduce fuel consumption. Last week, the Chief Minister reduced his convoy’s vehicles by half, retaining only essential ones for security reasons.

CM Saini committed to working one day a week without using any vehicle and encouraged public representatives and officers to lead by example. He directed all ministers and departmental officers to limit vehicle usage during travel and urged everyone to utilize public transport to save fuel. Energy conservation, he emphasized, is a collective responsibility that can significantly contribute to fuel savings and environmental protection with small efforts from each citizen.
