Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini praised Syama Prasad Mookerjee for his sacrifice towards national unity and integrity. Saini credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fulfilling Mookerjee’s vision by revoking Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister highlighted the significance of Mookerjee’s ideals on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary in Pathankot.
Pathankot, known as the northern frontier of India, was described by Saini as a symbol of patriotism and valor. He emphasized the city’s historical importance as a land of brave warriors and martyrs who safeguarded the nation’s borders. Saini underscored Mookerjee’s enduring legacy as a visionary leader dedicated to India’s progress and national consciousness.
Saini lauded Mookerjee’s multifaceted contributions, recognizing him not only as an esteemed educationist but also as a remarkable statesman. Referring to Mookerjee’s early achievements, Saini highlighted his appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calcutta at the age of 33. The Chief Minister also mentioned Mookerjee’s significant influence in Bengal, where he was affectionately known as the “Tiger of Bengal.”
Saini reiterated the importance of Mookerjee’s mission, which culminated in the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He emphasized the government’s efforts in providing housing to millions of underprivileged families and ensuring healthcare access through initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat scheme. In Haryana, Saini highlighted the integration of the Chirayu scheme with Ayushman Bharat to enhance healthcare security for the populace.
