Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh praised the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets and National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from the state who took part in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. He emphasized that their involvement in the event showcased the nation’s youthful vigor, discipline, and commitment to service.
During the ‘At Home’ function at Lok Bhavan, Governor Ghosh, along with Lady Governor Mitra Ghosh, highlighted the significance of the Republic Day parade as a representation of India’s unity in diversity and constitutional values. He acknowledged the dedication, training, and commitment required for selection in the parade, commending the participants for upholding Haryana’s honor and contributing to India’s national pride.
Prof Ghosh underscored the NCC’s role in shaping responsible citizens by instilling leadership qualities, courage, and patriotism among the youth. He also praised the selfless efforts of NSS volunteers, noting their impact on social responsibility through community engagement and nation-building initiatives. The Governor encouraged the cadets and volunteers to continue their journey of service, integrity, and excellence, emphasizing their importance in building a stronger and more inclusive India.
Major General Bharat Mehtani, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate, Haryana, provided an overview of NCC activities, while Sharwan Ram, Regional Director, NSS, Union Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, highlighted the contributions of NSS volunteers to nation-building.
