Watching the Republic Day parade up close on Kartavya Path in Delhi is a cherished dream for many Indians. For Rakhi Sinha from Charhi in Hazaribagh, Bihar, this dream is turning into reality as she has been invited to participate in the Republic Day celebrations on January 26. Rakhi Sinha’s exceptional work under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Yojana (PMBJK) has earned her this recognition.
Rakhi Sinha manages a Janaushadhi Kendra in Charhi, which has been ranked second in Jharkhand. Among the ten chosen Janaushadhi Kendra operators in the state, her center stood out for its integrity, transparency, and dedication to public service. The news of her selection has sparked celebrations throughout the Hazaribagh district.
Expressing her gratitude, Rakhi Sinha stated, “The Janaushadhi Kendra has been life-changing for me, making me self-reliant and earning me respect in society. This recognition is not just mine but belongs to all villagers benefiting from affordable, quality medicines.” She credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to develop and serve her community.
The Janaushadhi Kendra in Charhi has significantly improved healthcare in the rural area, offering medicines at up to 75% lower prices than before. This has brought substantial relief to poor and middle-class families who previously spent large sums on medications. Rakhi Sinha’s journey is now a beacon of women’s empowerment, showcasing how with dedication and government support, rural women can achieve national recognition.
