Health Minister JP Nadda led a review meeting in Delhi regarding the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and a 100-day campaign, stressing the need for community involvement to bridge the gap between efforts and outcomes. He highlighted the importance of a people’s movement involving communities, public representatives, and civil society to achieve tuberculosis elimination.
Nadda emphasized the role of elected officials in understanding and addressing the TB burden in their constituencies, urging them to support case detection, treatment adherence, and community mobilization. He underscored the significance of cooperation in implementation rather than isolated efforts and called for designated officers in each ward to monitor campaign progress.
The Health Minister also discussed the use of technology, mentioning the deployment of handheld X-ray machines with Artificial Intelligence to enhance early diagnosis and case detection. Additionally, Nadda conducted a high-level review meeting on dengue prevention and control measures in Delhi ahead of the monsoon season, focusing on preparedness and key interventions for disease surveillance, vector management, and public awareness.
