The Regional Meteorological Centre predicts heavy rainfall in 14 districts of Tamil Nadu while the state grapples with scorching summer temperatures. This weather shift is attributed to a cyclonic circulation in the southwest Arabian Sea and nearby areas.
Widespread rainfall activity is expected to persist in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal over the next week. Tiruchirappalli, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Dindigul, and Theni districts are likely to experience heavy rain and strong winds.
Additionally, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Karur, Salem, and Erode districts are also bracing for similar weather conditions. The forecast indicates heavy rainfall in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Namakkal, and Tirupattur districts over the next two days.
In the following days, significant rainfall is expected in districts like Tiruppur, Salem, Tiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Dharmapuri, Madurai, and Sivaganga. Chennai, on the other hand, is likely to see cloudy skies but with persistently high temperatures reaching around 41 degrees Celsius.
