Veteran actress Hema Malini recently reunited with filmmaker Ramesh Sippy to unveil the cover of Society Achievers featuring the legendary director. The event saw Ramesh Sippy in attendance with his wife, actor Kiran Juneja.

During the unveiling, conversations delved into cherished memories from the era when filmmaking required immense physical endurance, emotional honesty, and deep creative trust. Hema Malini revealed that her collaboration with Ramesh Sippy was based on creative faith, especially during the casting of ‘Sholay’.

When Ramesh Sippy was considering casting for ‘Sholay’, a film known for its powerful ensemble, he was initially unsure about approaching Hema Malini for a role among many towering characters. Despite his hesitation, Hema Malini trusted his instinct and accepted the part, a decision that marked a significant moment in cinematic history.

Reflecting on their professional bond, Ramesh Sippy emphasized the importance of mutual trust and respect among all the actors involved in ‘Sholay’. While acknowledging that recreating ‘Sholay’ with its original cast would be impossible, Hema Malini suggested the possibility of a new rendition with fresh characters and talent, even proposing Ramesh Sippy as the director.
