Veteran actress and BJP MP, Hema Malini, addressed the ongoing protests in the national capital, urging the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) not to mislead students. She emphasized the importance of discussing issues properly rather than resorting to protests that she believes are ineffective. Malini highlighted the government’s commitment to youth and education, stating that the Modi government has consistently supported these causes.
The protests escalated following the removal of Sonam Wangchuk by Delhi Police from the protest site at Jantar Mantar. Wangchuk had been on a hunger strike for 21 days, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged exam irregularities. The controversy surrounding paper leaks in the NEET exam led to student protests, seeking transparency and accountability in the examination process.
Authorities moved Wangchuk to a hospital due to health concerns, complying with a Delhi High Court order. The government defended the exam process amid allegations of malpractice, including question paper leaks and unfair advantages. Investigations are ongoing to address the issues raised by students and restore trust in the examination system.
