A review meeting chaired by Samrat Choudhary in Darbhanga focused on key infrastructure and healthcare projects in the region. Projects such as the Darbhanga Airport expansion, Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) redevelopment, and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Darbhanga construction were discussed. The meeting, held at Darbhanga Airport, included updates on various aspects like the new terminal building, road connectivity, and infrastructure components.
Rajnish Mishra, Deputy Director of AIIMS Darbhanga, presented a progress report on the institute’s construction, covering areas like land acquisition, civil works, and infrastructure planning. Health Department Secretary Kumar Ravi provided insights on the DMCH redevelopment, highlighting ongoing work at the hospital and student enrollment processes. The Chief Minister issued directives after reviewing project progress and stakeholder inputs, emphasizing adherence to international airport standards for Darbhanga Airport’s upgrade.
Stressing the need for operational night landing facilities at the airport, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite AIIMS Darbhanga’s construction and resolve any bottlenecks promptly. He also called for an acceleration of DMCH redevelopment while maintaining high-quality standards and eliminating the practice of patient referrals. Special focus was placed on improving public healthcare services with ongoing hospital renovations and construction efforts.
