A meeting on higher education reforms took place at Lok Bhawan in Bihar, chaired by Governor-cum-Chancellor Syed Ata Hasnain. The discussions focused on enhancing academic quality, improving administration, fostering research, and advancing digital reforms in the state’s universities.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Higher Education Minister Sanjay Singh were among the participants. One of the key decisions made was to propose a new university law for Bihar, incorporating best practices from central universities and other states. This move aims to establish a more transparent and contemporary regulatory system for higher education institutions in Bihar.
To boost research and innovation, new initiatives like the Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellowship and research grant schemes were agreed upon. These initiatives seek to bolster the research culture and provide financial aid to scholars and researchers. Additionally, efforts are underway to implement the Samarth digital platform across state universities to enhance transparency, efficiency, and digital governance.
