A high-level review meeting took place at the Sankalp Auditorium in the Chief Minister’s residence in Patna. Led by CM Samrat Choudhary, the meeting focused on reviewing the implementation of three new criminal laws and the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS). Emphasis was placed on enhancing a transparent, technology-driven, and citizen-centric law enforcement and justice delivery framework.
Officials at the meeting evaluated the progress of initiatives aimed at modernizing the criminal justice system and enhancing coordination between law enforcement and judicial departments. The discussion highlighted the importance of utilizing modern technology to improve the efficiency, accessibility, and responsiveness of the justice delivery mechanism. It was stressed that integrating technological tools into administrative and legal processes is crucial for enhancing service delivery and reducing procedural delays.
Special attention was given to increasing public awareness about the Citizen Services Portal. Authorities were tasked with conducting extensive outreach and awareness campaigns to ensure citizens can effectively utilize the services and facilities offered on the digital platform. The meeting also focused on strengthening the Speedy Trial mechanism to ensure the timely resolution of pending criminal cases, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public confidence in the justice system and ensuring accountability.
Efforts to enhance information-sharing mechanisms among government departments and agencies were highlighted during the review. Officials were directed to enhance coordination and communication channels to facilitate seamless information exchange, thereby improving administrative efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness. Better inter-departmental collaboration was identified as a crucial element for the successful implementation of new legal and technological frameworks.
CM Samrat Choudhary instructed District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police across the state to engage regularly with industrialists, businesspersons, and representatives of major institutions. The aim is to address concerns related to security, business operations, and administrative support, and implement necessary corrective measures. The overarching objective is to foster a secure and business-friendly environment that promotes investment, economic activity, and institutional growth.
