A significant event held under the “Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana” in Chhattisgarh’s Bemetara has garnered attention on social media. The event, which took place at the Rest House in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the state cabinet, faced severe disruptions during a mass marriage ceremony. Due to a severe storm and heavy rainfall, the ceremony faced chaos as essential protocols and arrangements collapsed.
The situation escalated to the point where the Chief Minister’s planned blessings and other ceremonies had to be canceled entirely. State Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh publicly criticized top district officials for the mismanagement, emphasizing the lack of basic administrative understanding. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, in response, has initiated a formal inquiry through the Divisional Commissioner following the Speaker’s displeasure.
The incident has sparked political discussions, with Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao highlighting the importance of learning from Dr. Singh’s experience. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, on the other hand, used the event to criticize the current administration, implying a decline in governance standards where the Speaker feels compelled to lecture state officials.
