A Himachal Pradesh BJP delegation, led by the Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to discuss the arrest of three individuals by the Delhi Police in connection to the AI Impact Summit case. Thakur expressed concerns about the confrontation between the state police and Delhi Police, calling it detrimental to cooperative federalism.
Former Chief Minister Thakur highlighted the significance of the AI Impact Summit in elevating India’s global standing, attended by leaders from over 20 countries and major technology firms. He criticized certain Youth Congress leaders for allegedly tarnishing the nation’s image through protests directed by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
Thakur raised suspicions about efforts to obstruct the Delhi Police from accessing CCTV footage and related documents, suggesting a potential conspiracy. He mentioned that some accused individuals found refuge in Himachal Pradesh, leading to their arrest in the Chanshal Valley area.
The former Chief Minister accused the state machinery of potentially misusing its power to provide shelter to the accused, pointing out the alleged involvement of certain Youth Congress leaders. He claimed that despite legal procedures being followed by the Delhi Police, they faced obstacles and were accused of kidnapping, resulting in a prolonged standoff.
