Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led a meeting with hydropower project developers in the state, focusing on land revenue assessment. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of developers paying land revenue, highlighting it as the state’s rightful due. He emphasized the need for compliance with regulations and timely land revenue payments by operational hydropower projects.
Discussions were proposed to revise the rates for land revenue payment. A meeting concerning 25 MW capacity hydropower projects is scheduled for January 12 in Shimla under State Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi’s chairmanship. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to utilizing Himachal Pradesh’s resources for the state’s welfare and progress.
Ensuring solutions to challenges faced by hydropower developers, the Chief Minister mentioned decisions taken to enhance Himachal Pradesh’s self-reliance and prosperity. The state has advocated for permanent membership in BBMB projects and the prompt release of around Rs 6,500 crore in pending arrears. Revenue Minister Negi shared insights during the meeting, with various stakeholders also contributing their viewpoints.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLAs Sunder Singh Thakur and Vinod Sultanpuri, along with senior officials including Additional Chief Secretary K.K. Pant and Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar.
