Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu expressed pride for Congress workers as a party member elevated to the position of Member of Parliament. At a ceremony celebrating Anurag Sharma’s election as an MP, Sukhu highlighted the selection process by Rahul Gandhi for the Rajya Sabha seat. Despite criticisms from BJP leaders, Sharma was elected unopposed, emphasizing party unity.
In a show of support, Sukhu noted that Sharma’s appointment signifies the party’s commitment to grassroots workers, setting a precedent for future elections. The Chief Minister also outlined plans for educational reforms in the state, including the establishment of CBSE-based schools and Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools to enhance student development.
Sharma, in an emotional speech, acknowledged the opportunity given by Sukhu and the party high command, pledging to fulfill the expectations of the state’s residents. He expressed confidence in the Congress’s prospects under Sukhu’s leadership, aiming to secure all 15 seats in Kangra district in the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections.
