The Himachal Pradesh Education Department has terminated three Assistant Professors following a departmental investigation that confirmed their involvement in sexually harassing female students. The dismissed teachers are Virender Sharma, Anil Kumar, and Pawan Kumar. The dismissal order, issued by Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar, cited “grave moral turpitude and gross misconduct” as the basis for their removal.
The investigation revealed that Virender Sharma, stationed at Rajiv Gandhi Government Degree College, behaved inappropriately with a student, attempting to establish personal contact and making unwelcome advances. Anil Kumar, from Siddharth Government College, was found guilty of molestation and harassment during a Chemistry class. Pawan Kumar, a Dance Professor, misused his position by summoning female students for late-night practices, with allegations of attempted molestation and subsequent cover-up.
All three professors have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect, as confirmed by officials.
