A 30-year-old Hindu man named Ripon Saha was deliberately run over by a vehicle in Rajbari district, Bangladesh, near Karim Filling Station. The incident occurred when Saha demanded payment for fuel and the driver fatally struck him.
According to reports, the driver, Kamal Hossain, and the vehicle owner, Abul Hashem, were apprehended by the police following the incident. The police confirmed that this was not an accident but a deliberate act, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
Employees at the filling station recounted that Saha was killed on the spot as he tried to prevent a black Land Cruiser from leaving without paying for fuel. This tragic event is part of a concerning trend of violence against Hindu communities in Bangladesh, with this being the tenth such killing in a month.
India has expressed deep concerns over the recurring attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, particularly Hindus. The country hopes for decisive action to address these acts of communal violence and the escalating violence against minorities under the current interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.
