A literary gathering commemorated the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts in Delhi. The event featured the official launch of a new anthology titled “Operation Sindoor: 100 Sarvshreshth Kavitayen,” edited by Dr. Harish Chandra Burnwal and published by Prabhat Prakashan. Ram Bahadur Rai, the President of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, unveiled the volume during the ceremony.
Distinguished guests from various fields, including former Army officer Colonel Pradeep Khare and Saeed Ansari from Aaj Tak, attended the event. Poets like Sudeep Bhola and Virendra Vats also graced the occasion. Chief Guest Ram Bahadur Rai praised Dr. Harish Chandra Burnwal’s dedication to literary work during the book release.
During his speech, Rai mentioned insights from an American defense expert, suggesting that Operation Sindoor might not be over and could resurface. He encouraged the participating poets to continue documenting such events through their verses. The guest speakers reflected on the cultural and historical significance of the anthology, with Colonel Pradeep Khare emphasizing its portrayal of national valor.
Saeed Ansari highlighted Prabhat Prakashan’s role in promoting nationalism and shared his personal connection to the featured poems. Dr. Burnwal’s compassionate approach towards poets who didn’t win main prizes was also acknowledged. The anthology originated from a competition organized by HB Poetry, involving 361 poets nationwide, and was a collaboration between HB Poetry and Prabhat Prakashan.
The ceremony concluded with poets reciting their compositions, evoking patriotic sentiments among the audience. Over eighty poets from different parts of India were felicitated, symbolizing a successful blend of literature, journalism, and the arts.
