Former Uttar Pradesh Minister and Samajwadi Party leader, Swami Prasad Maurya, faced backlash from Hindu saints and seers for his comments on the alleged embezzlement at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. The Vishva Hindu Parishad’s demands for an FIR in the temple donation controversy were supported by some priests. Dinesh Falahari, a petitioner in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi case, called for action under the National Security Act against Maurya for insulting Hindu deities.
Mahant Deveshacharya Ji Maharaj praised the VHP Chief’s call for an FIR in the Ram temple ‘offerings theft’ row, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to reveal the truth. Mahant Bhakt Charan Das Maharaj condemned Maurya’s derogatory remarks, stating that speaking ill of Lord Ram is an insult to the Hindu community. Swami Dilip Das Tyagi also supported the demand for an FIR into the Ram temple theft controversy, urging swift police action.
Responding to the controversy, Mahant Bhakt Charan Das Maharaj stressed the importance of punishing those guilty in the Ram Mandir donation theft case, emphasizing the sanctity of the Ram Mandir for Hindus. Swami Prasad Maurya sparked outrage by suggesting that robbers looted the temple, questioning Lord Ram’s ability to protect his assets.
